Benefits Of Additional Return Air Runs

Additional return air runs can significantly improve air quality in homes by promoting better air circulation and distribution throughout the living space. By adding more return air runs to the HVAC system, air is drawn from multiple areas of the home and returned to the system for filtration and conditioning. This helps to remove airborne contaminants, dust, and allergens more effectively, resulting in cleaner and healthier indoor air. Improved air circulation also helps to balance temperatures throughout the home, reducing hot and cold spots and ensuring a more comfortable living environment for occupants. Overall, additional return air runs contribute to better indoor air quality, comfort, and overall well-being in the home.

Additional return air runs can lead to energy savings by optimizing the efficiency of HVAC systems. By strategically placing return air runs in multiple areas of the home, the system can draw in air more evenly, reducing the workload on the HVAC equipment. This improved air circulation helps to balance temperatures throughout the home, preventing overworking of the system to compensate for hot or cold spots. As a result, the HVAC system operates more efficiently, consuming less energy to maintain desired temperatures. Ultimately, this leads to lower energy bills and increased energy savings for homeowners, making additional return air runs a cost-effective investment in home comfort and efficiency.

Insufficient return air poses a frequent challenge, particularly for HVAC systems designed inadequately or initially intended solely for heating purposes. Integrating additional return air ducts into your system fosters increased airflow throughout your home, enhancing comfort for your household. Rectifying this issue yields numerous advantages: quieter operation, improved airflow, reduced need for repairs, extended lifespan of equipment, lower utility expenses, and, most importantly, heightened comfort levels. Addressing this common concern ensures optimal performance and satisfaction with your HVAC system, enhancing your overall home environment.

Tips From The HVAC Professionals

Frequently Asked Questions

Contrary to what you may believe, there is no set parameter for sizing a system to the precise square footage of your home. Because homes are all built so differently, your home’s HVAC system will depend on its specific construction.

To determine the size HVAC system you need, you need to have a licensed HVAC professional from Aspen One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning evaluate your home. Our expert technicians will examine your home’s layout and make recommendations depending on your home’s individual needs. Many factors go into calculating the size of a furnace or air conditioning system your home needs. Factors include the size of your home, the number of windows in your home and which direction they face, elements surrounding your home, and expectations your family has for the comfort of your home.

With all of this information, Aspen One Hour can propose a range of energy-efficient options for perfectly heating and cooling your space all year long. Call us today for your appointment!

Increasing the efficiency of your home’s HVAC system can be relatively easy. Most importantly, be sure to change your filters regularly and with the Aspen Comfort Club membership, you have peace of mind knowing that your filters are replaced at your annual tune-ups! Also, make sure your thermostat is set at higher temperatures in the summer and lower temperatures in the winter. It doesn’t take the body long to adjust to incremental changes of 2-5 degrees, and these changes can save you a lot of money on your energy bills.

Lastly, you’ll want to make sure you keep blinds closed on windows that let in direct sunlight, or use curtains to shade your home while still letting in some light. Though natural light is something we all crave, keeping your blinds and curtains closed during the hottest days of the year, especially if you are not home, can drastically decrease the effort your AC system is required to make.

Regular maintenance on your HVAC system should be performed twice a year. The licensed professionals at Aspen One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning recommend having your system serviced in the spring before the weather heats up again, and in the fall before the weather cools down. If you’re a member of our Comfort Club, this is included in your pre-paid services along with many other services we offer.

Having regular maintenance performed on your system allows for a longer system life, higher efficiency, and proactive service to stop issues before they happen. Call us today at (517) 879-2049 to schedule your maintenance or to join our Comfort Club!

In older homes that either have boiler or baseboard heating, there may not have ductwork run throughout the home, making it difficult and costly to add a traditional central air conditioning system. Therefore, a ductless heat pump, sometimes called a mini-split air conditioner or a ductless air conditioner, is a cooling system that does not utilize ducts for moving treated air throughout the space. It takes warm air from one area and moving it to another. There is an outdoor compressor unit as well as air handling units indoors to allow the system to function.

The heat is transferred through the system. It goes through the cycle of evaporation and condensation. A refrigerant substance is used through a compressor pump to help achieve this cooled air. The system contains two heat exchange coils. One of those contains the necessary refrigerant material. The other works to evaporate it. This allows the refrigerant to absorb the heat from the area. This happens during the evaporation process. They work to maintain the specific temperature a person desires by using a thermostat to control the movement of the air between the coil systems. If you’re looking to upgrade your home’s comfort but don’t have ductwork, a heat pump can be an excellent option.
